Resident Evil Requiem and Porsche: An Unexpected Collaboration
Capcom’s upcoming survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, is forging an unusual partnership with Porsche, integrating the German automaker’s vehicles into the game’s narrative and action. This collaboration brings together two iconic brands, promising a unique experience for players when the game launches on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Takes Center Stage
The collaboration features a custom-built Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, driven by returning protagonist Leon S. Kennedy. The vehicle, showcased in a trailer at The Game Awards 2025, speeds through various environments, including rain-soaked city streets and country roads [Traxion]. The Cayenne Turbo GT boasts 650 horsepower from its 4.0-liter engine [Traxion].
Role in the Game Remains Unclear
Although the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is prominently featured in promotional materials, it remains uncertain whether players will be able to drive the SUV within the game itself, or if its appearances will be limited to cutscenes [Traxion]. Producer Masato Kumazawa described the vehicle as Leon’s “personal car, a Cayenne Turbo GT custom-built to suit the game’s world” [Traxion], hinting at a unique design tailored for the game.
Porsche’s Growing Presence in Gaming
This isn’t Porsche’s first foray into the gaming world. The company previously collaborated with Cyberpunk 2077, allowing players to drive a Porsche 911 Turbo [GamersHeroes]. More recently, Porsche-themed skins were added to Overwatch 2, inspired by the electric Porsche Macan Turbo and Porsche Taycan [GamersHeroes]. A Porsche-branded spaceship is also planned for inclusion in Naughty Dog’s upcoming new IP, Intergalactic [GamersHeroes].
Looking Ahead
The collaboration between Resident Evil Requiem and Porsche represents a growing trend of partnerships between the gaming and automotive industries. As games strive for greater realism and immersion, integrating recognizable brands and vehicles can enhance the player experience. The full extent of Porsche’s role in Resident Evil Requiem will be revealed upon the game’s release on February 27, 2026.
