Rick Ross is pushing back against public criticism from 50 Cent regarding the commercial performance of his latest studio album, Set in Stone. According to statements posted across social media platforms in July 2025, the ongoing feud reignited after claims surfaced regarding the project’s first-week sales figures.

Rick Ross Defends Set in Stone Amid Sales Claims

Following the release of Set in Stone on July 17, 2025, social media chatter questioned the album’s initial reach. On Thursday, July 23, Rick Ross addressed the speculation directly in an Instagram Story video, declaring the project to be the “album of the year.” According to Ross, official milestones will be celebrated once the final tally is locked in, brushing aside the negative commentary.

“Whenever the final numbers come in, I’ma throw a party,” Ross stated in his video.

50 Cent Targets First-Week Numbers and Tour Sales

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson amplified the criticism online, taking to Instagram to mock Ross over the reported figures. According to posts shared by 50 Cent, the LP allegedly struggled to clear low numerical thresholds despite its guest-heavy tracklist. In one post cited by entertainment outlets, 50 Cent wrote that the project had “gone wood” and claimed nobody was checking for the release.

In his response video, Ross shifted focus back to his rival, questioning his business dealings in Shreveport, Louisiana, and asking whether community loans had been repaid.

Official first-week charting data and verified sales figures for Set in Stone are scheduled to be unveiled by tracking agencies at the top of the week.
