Ridgid Portable Work Table: A Prosumer Option for Home Improvement

Home Depot’s Ridgid tool brand positions its tools as a high-quality choice for both professionals and serious DIY enthusiasts. The $100 Ridgid portable work table, a recent addition to Home Depot’s workbench and table lineup, is garnering positive attention from users.

Overall User Feedback

The Ridgid portable work table currently holds a 4.5-star rating on Home Depot’s website, based on fewer than 50 reviews as of March 22, 2026. Approximately 75% of reviewers recommend the table to others. The first review, posted on June 22, 2025, praised the table’s ease of assembly and disassembly, lightweight design, and overall sturdiness.

Negative feedback primarily centers around its suitability as a router table, with some users reporting table flex and issues with router plate size and the included plywood insert. Some reviewers noted the need to build a custom fence for router applications.

One reviewer, “BobInc,” highlighted the table’s value in a larger project, stating it was the best $100 spent during a $5,000 deck rebuild, effectively supporting a 12-inch compound miter saw.

Comparison with the DeWalt Portable Workbench

A search on Home Depot’s website identifies the $129 DeWalt plastic folding portable sawhorse workbench as the closest competitor to the Ridgid portable work table. While Home Depot owns the Ridgid brand, Stanley Black & Decker owns DeWalt.

The DeWalt workbench offers a larger work surface, measuring 33.4 by 24 inches with a total area of 801.6 square inches, and stands 31 inches tall. The Ridgid table provides 755.7 square inches of workspace, measuring 21.81 by 34.65 inches, and is an inch taller at 32 inches.

The Ridgid work table boasts a higher weight capacity, rated for up to 1,500 pounds, compared to the DeWalt workbench’s 1,000-pound capacity. The Ridgid table includes two clamps compatible with its integrated rails, a feature not found on the DeWalt model.

The DeWalt workbench features folding legs for quicker deployment, though they are less sturdy than the Ridgid table’s leg system. The Ridgid table is slightly lighter, weighing 22.49 pounds, while the DeWalt workbench weighs 24.25 pounds without clamps.
