Rihanna’s Home Targeted in Shooting; Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Beverly Hills home was the target of a shooting on Sunday, March 8, 2026, resulting in the arrest and charging of Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, with attempted murder. No injuries were reported.
Details of the Incident
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Ortiz allegedly fired several rounds from her vehicle toward the residence around 1:15 p.m. USA Today reports that police recovered seven “assault rifle casings” from the home. At least four rounds struck the house, and multiple rounds hit the exterior, as well as a vehicle parked in front, ABC11 reported.
Ortiz, a resident of Florida, was arrested at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center less than an hour after the shooting, following a pursuit by police. A weapon, described as an AR-15 rifle, was recovered from her vehicle, The Independent detailed.
Charges and Bail
Ortiz has been booked for attempted murder, as well as ten counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling. The assault charges relate to Rihanna, her family, two members of staff, and two people in the neighboring house. Her bail has been set at over $10 million, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Family Present During Shooting
Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their three children – 3-year-old RZA Athleston, 2-year-old Riot Rose, and 5-month-old Rocki Irish Mayers – and Rihanna’s mother were reportedly at the property at the time of the shooting. No one was injured.
Legal Proceedings
Ortiz’s lawyer initially entered a not guilty plea on her behalf, which was later withdrawn ahead of an arraignment hearing scheduled for later this month. The hearing took place in the same courthouse where A$AP Rocky was recently acquitted of criminal charges in a 2021 shooting involving A$AP Relli, USA Today noted.
Investigation Ongoing
The LAPD Robbery Homicide Division is investigating the incident, but a motive for the shooting remains unknown. Police have not disclosed any known connection between Ortiz and the couple. ABC11 reports investigators are trying to determine whether Ortiz knew Rihanna lived at the home.
