Country star Riley Green surprised a Florida resident by showing up in person to buy a Gibson J-45 guitar listed on Facebook Marketplace, according to social media posts shared by the seller. The transaction occurred in Panama City, Florida, where Green met local business owner Shane Allen for the scheduled pickup.
An Unexpected Meeting on Facebook Marketplace
Shane Allen, who operates Front Beach Softwash, a pressure washing business in Panama City, listed his cherished acoustic guitar online despite mixed feelings about parting with it, according to a post on his business Facebook page. Allen noted that the buyer could have easily sent a representative to handle the exchange given his status in the music industry.
“He could have sent anybody to buy my guitar,” Allen wrote on Facebook. “Instead he invited me to meet him and look at guitar. When I seen that he was the one buying it, well it made selling it feel a little better!”
The impromptu meeting ended with the two men posing for a photograph before Green departed with the instrument. Allen expressed optimism about the guitar’s future, writing on Facebook, “I hope to see him throwing them pic marks on her soon. There will be another J-45 in this guys future. Thanks, Duckman!”
Touring Schedule and Upcoming Releases
The marketplace purchase takes place during a busy professional stretch for Green, who has been touring extensively. According to concert schedules, his Cowboy As It Gets Tour is slated to conclude on August 22 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Following the tour wrap-up, Green will shift his attention to the release of his upcoming full-length album, That’s Just Me, scheduled to debut on September 18. The 19-track project features several high-profile collaborations, including work with Brooks & Dunn, Randy Owen, Jake Worthington, and Hannah McFarland.
In addition to his music releases, Green is preparing for a television role. He is set to join the coaching panel for season 30 of NBC’s The Voice, premiering on September 21. Green joins fellow newcomer Queen Latifah alongside returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson.
“Everybody’s great, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Adam Levine,” Green said in an interview with radio station K99.1 FM. “I just can’t believe I’m on the show. All the contestants that are coming on there, it’ll be cool to get to try to help them out along the way.”
