Robert D. Croucher Obituary: Remembering a Life of Family and Service Robert D. Croucher, affectionately known as “Bob,” passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 91. He was surrounded by family at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Westborough following a brief and unexpected illness. Born in Richmond Hills, Novel York, Bob was the only child of Ruth and George Croucher. He built a life marked by dedication to family, career, and community. After serving in the Gulf Oil Company in Oceanside, New York for 37 years, he retired having raised his children there with his wife, Judith. Bob and Judith shared 69 years of marriage before her passing in 2023. Together, they later made their home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He is survived by his son, Dean Croucher of Sterling, Massachusetts, and his daughter, Carol Lake of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Bob also leaves behind his children’s spouses, four grandchildren and their spouses, and five great-grandchildren. A lifelong enthusiast of baseball, Bob remained a devoted fan of the New York Yankees throughout his life. He appreciated the sport in all its forms, readily complimenting a good play regardless of the team, while always holding a special place for his beloved Yankees. Bob attended Adelphi University where he pursued a degree in business. His life reflected the values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family that he carried from his early years in New York through his final days in Massachusetts.
