Roberto Vannacci Announces ‘Tre Giorni dei Futuristi’ in Sanremo Amid Political and Athletic Rally
Italian politician Roberto Vannacci, founder of Futuro Nazionale, has announced a three-day fitness and political event in Sanremo, scheduled for July 10, according to a post shared on his social media accounts. The event, titled “Tre giorni dei futuristi,” includes cycling, swimming, and cross-country running, with Vannacci framing it as a call to “reunite a Nation” through physical and ideological discipline.
The activities will begin with a bike ride along the Ligurian coast, followed by a swim and cross-country running, according to the event’s promotional materials. Vannacci, an ex-official of the Carroccio, has positioned the event as a blend of political mobilization and health advocacy.
“Mens sana in corpore sano,” the event’s slogan, echoes the Latin adage emphasizing mental and physical well-being. Vannacci’s party, which currently holds 6.4% in national polls according to YouTrend, has been expanding its regional structures, with recent appointments of officials in Campania and Puglia. The event is organized by two former League figures, Marco Lupi, already president of the Sanremo city council, and Daniele Ventimiglia, regional coordinator of Fn in the constituent phase.

Political Context and Controversy
The event has drawn comparisons to Fascist-era practices, with critics noting similarities to the physical drills mandated for fascist officials at the Olympic stadium filmed by the Luce Institute. On social media, users have mocked the event, with one comment asking, “The next step will be harvesting grain bare-chested?” Vannacci, known for his provocative rhetoric, has dismissed such concerns.
The Futuro Nazionale leader has also criticized left-wing politicians, particularly Democratic Party leader Elly Schlein. “Politicians, therefore, should set an example also in sports… instead of dancing on Gay Pride floats,” he wrote, adding: “Physical tests for all politicians!”
Vannacci’s party has seen a surge in support. The event is expected to be preceded by a presentation of his book “Il coraggio vince” on Wednesday evening in Riva Ligure.
Event Details and Organizers
The Sanremo event will begin at 10 a.m. at the old train station, with participants cycling through the coastal cycle path of the Ligurian Ponente through part of the province of Imperia, before returning to Sanremo. The swimming segment will take place along the Sanremo coast, followed by a cross-country run.
Organizers include Marco Lupi, already president of the Sanremo city council, and Daniele Ventimiglia, regional coordinator of Fn in the constituent phase.
“The sport is health,” writes the general. “Health is life and those who are in good health weigh less on the National Health Service and are psychologically more stable. Politics is leadership and example.”

Public Reaction and Broader Implications
The event has split public opinion, with some applauding the general and others mocking him.
As the event approaches, questions remain about its impact on Futuro Nazionale’s political trajectory.
