The Rocky Horror Picture Show Returns to Student Life Cinema for 2026
The annual tradition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show returned to Florida State University’s Student Life Cinema for October 2026, tallahassee.com reported. White Mouse Productions partnered with the campus cinema to bring the midnight-movie tradition to students, featuring live actors performing alongside the screening.
The campus calendar describes the core setup: newlywed couple Brad and Janet pop a tire during a dark and stormy night and stumble into the manor of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, calendar.fsu.edu reported. The event features pre-show games and a live cast of actors bringing the film to life in real time. The schedule includes a sensory-friendly screening on Thursday with no callouts, props, or shadowcast, followed by full theatrical experiences on Friday and Saturday.
The Bay Area Roots of BL Rocky
The live cast BL Rocky originally formed in 1995 to perform at the UC Theatre in Berkeley, California, barelylegal.rhps.org reported. The group filled the void left when long-time cast Indecent Exposure ended their run.
Economic pressures forced the Parkway Cinema in Oakland to close its doors in 2009 after more than a decade at that venue, barelylegal.rhps.org reported. The cast put on a sold-out farewell performance with only two weeks notice before taking the show on the road to new venues across northern California, including San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Petaluma.
