Andrade Earns Victory Over Bandido in AEW Revolution Thriller

At AEW Revolution 2026, Andrade El Idolo defeated Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido in a highly anticipated match. The victory for Andrade came after a contest filled with dramatic moments and reversals, marking a significant win for the veteran wrestler.

Match Highlights

The match began with an even exchange, with both wrestlers demonstrating their lucha libre prowess. The crowd quickly erupted into a “lucha libre” chant, acknowledging the skill and heritage on display. Early in the bout, Andrade taunted Bandido, leading to a brief exchange where Bandido removed his pants in defiance, prompting an attack from Andrade.

Bandido quickly recovered and sent Andrade to the outside with a pump kick and a hurricanrana. After bringing Andrade back into the ring, Bandido attempted a springboard move, but Andrade countered with a powerbomb. Outside the ring, Andrade took a moment to seize a selfie with a fan before returning to the action.

Back in the ring, Andrade gained control, working over Bandido. Though, Bandido mounted a comeback, trading strikes with Andrade and building momentum. Andrade managed to block a Frog Splash with his knees. He then executed the Three Amigos, only for Bandido to respond with rolling German suplexes.

The momentum shifted several times, with Andrade regaining the upper hand with a moonsault to Bandido on the outside. He then threw Bandido back into the ring and landed a spinning elbow. Bandido countered Andrade’s DM attempt, and later hit the 21 Plex, but Andrade kicked out. Andrade countered a second attempt by Bandido and hit another spinning elbow.

The Finish

Andrade ultimately secured the victory with The DM from the ropes, finishing off Bandido after a hard-fought battle.

Post-Match Implications

While Andrade’s victory was decisive, it remains to be seen if he will challenge for the Ring of Honor World Championship. Blake Christian remains a potential contender for the title, having recently been defeated by Will Ospreay on AEW Dynamite.
