The January Breaking Point at Planet Fitness
Two and a half years of consistent training ended abruptly in January when TikTok creator Ronni3.Lo walked out of a Planet Fitness location.
A Barbell, a Seated Press, and an Ultimatum
The conflict flared during a packed January workout. Another gymgoer was actively using a barbell while simultaneously claiming an unoccupied seated press machine. When Ronni attempted to access the press, the individual maintained ownership of both stations.
Having lost nearly 800 pounds through a dedicated fitness lifestyle, Ronni treats her gym visits with strict focus. She determined that staying would likely escalate into a verbal confrontation.
“It was best for me to leave before an argument started,” Ronni recalled, noting that she grabbed her belongings from the locker room and departed without notifying facility staff, whom she did not blame for the behavior of patrons at that specific location.

Viral Backlash and the Seasonal Crowding Debate
Ronni’s subsequent video sparked widespread discussion online among other gym members experiencing similar seasonal crowding issues. Commenters on TikTok shared parallel frustrations regarding common courtesy lapses during the busy winter months.
One user noted that patrons frequently occupy machines merely to text, while another described witnessing a single individual monopolize four separate pieces of equipment during a Saturday session.
The Exodus of Regular Members
Regular members pointed out that January brings an influx of new participants sharing limited equipment, though commenters noted that seasonal crowds typically thin out as the weeks progress.
For her part, Ronni confirmed she will not return to that particular Planet Fitness franchise.
