Roz Purcell Celebrates Second Wedding in Connemara with Family and Friends
Roz Purcell, 2FM presenter and television personality, recently celebrated her second wedding to longtime partner Zach Desmond in a heartfelt ceremony at Ballynahinch Castle in Connemara. The event, held over the weekend of May 24–25, 2026, marked a significant milestone for the couple, who had previously exchanged vows in a legal ceremony in Dublin in March 2026.
A Celebration of Love and Connection
Purcell shared a series of photos from the occasion on Instagram, captioning the post: “You only get married twice once & this time we got to celebrate with all our friends & family in one of our favourite places. It was the best day, I’m sad it’s over.” The images captured the couple’s joy, including Purcell being walked down the aisle by her father, moments with their dogs Myla and Willay, and intricate cake and decor details.

The ceremony took place at Ballynahinch Castle, a historic venue in Connemara known for its scenic beauty and romantic ambiance. The couple’s celebration featured a rustic yet elegant aesthetic, with the venue’s natural surroundings echoing the style of the 19th-century estate.
Wedding Attire and Design
Purcell stunned in a custom-designed wedding dress by Connemara-based designer Sasha Donellan. The gown featured a satin-bodiced silhouette with chiffon detailing, paired with a pair of practical yet stylish wellies—a nod to the couple’s love for the Irish landscape. The choice of wellies, while unconventional for a wedding, highlighted the couple’s playful and down-to-earth personalities.
The event’s floral arrangements were crafted by Tina McGrath of The Wild Bunch, while the cake was created by The Fox & The Flour. Photographer Jessica Soares, who also documented the couple’s previous wedding, captured the day’s special moments.
A Return to Roots
The second ceremony allowed Purcell and Desmond to celebrate with a broader circle of loved ones, following their more private legal wedding in Dublin. The Connemara event reflected the couple’s deep connection to the region, which has been a significant part of their relationship. Purcell, who has frequently spoken about her Irish heritage, described the location as “one of our favourite places,” emphasizing the sentimental value of the celebration.
As the couple continues their journey together, their wedding in Connemara underscores a blend of tradition, personal significance, and a celebration of love that resonates with their shared history.
