RTL AdAlliance Unveils 2026/27 Video Advertising Strategy in Vienna
More than 500 guests gathered on October 8 at the Ottakringer Brauerei in Vienna for the RTL AdAlliance Night 2026, where RTL and its marketing partners presented new programming lineups and commercial strategies for the upcoming 2026/27 advertising season. Under the guiding motto All Ad Once,
the event focused on uniting television, streaming, and digital video assets into a streamlined portfolio for media buyers, according to a report by medianet.at.
Austria Strategy Focuses on Relevance and Trust
Top executives from RTL AdAlliance outlined three core pillars for the upcoming season: relevance, trust, and simplicity. Elisabeth Frank, Managing Director Austria; Claudia Ostermann-Schabata, Deputy Managing Director Austria; and Oliver Vesper, Deputy CEO and Chief Digital Officer, detailed how these principles translate into reaching targeted demographics, establishing secure advertising environments, and simplifying cross-platform booking.
Caterina Pretti, Managing Director Austria for RTL Deutschland and General Manager at Sky Fernsehen GmbH, addressed the ongoing integration of pay-TV operator and streaming aggregator Sky into the RTL sales network. The 75-minute stage presentation, hosted by Annie Müller Martinez, highlighted entertainment brands, reality formats, and sports rights designed to draw viewer attention.
Content Lineups and Commercial Expansion
Inga Leschek, Chief Content Officer of RTL Deutschland, presented programming highlights during the evening. Thorsten Braun, Managing Director, and presenter Arabella Kiesbauer provided insights into the upcoming season for RTLZWEI. Performers from the established dance format Let’s Dance
—including Jorge González, Patrick Linke, and Renata and Valentin Lusin—appeared on stage to demonstrate the commercial value of anchored entertainment properties.
The Vienna presentation linked audience-building content directly to monetization strategies. The broader commercial portfolio for the season spans channels and platforms such as RTL, VOX, RTLZWEI, Sky Österreich, DMAX, TLC, SPORT1, and CANAL+ ACTION. Austrian-specific media brands including R9, krone.tv, and oe24.TV round out the digital and linear offerings.
Digital Growth Against Linear TV Pressures
This commercial push arrives as media groups manage shifting viewership habits. Financial reports from RTL Group S.A. in Luxembourg indicate that during the first half of 2026, the conglomerate’s linear television advertising revenues fell by 4 percent compared to the previous year. Conversely, digital advertising revenues climbed 10.9 percent, and streaming revenue grew 27.2 percent to 299 million euros ($325 million).
While those corporate figures reflect group-wide performance rather than the Austrian market alone, they illustrate the broader industry migration toward digital inventory. Elisabeth Frank emphasized the objective of reaching audiences across their preferred viewing environments by pairing international media brands with domestically anchored Austrian platforms.
