Rupiah Exchange Rate vs USD – November 25, 2025

Bisnis.com JAKARTA – The rupiah exchange rate is estimated to weaken to the level of IDR 16,690 to IDR 16,730 per US dollar today, Tuesday (25/11/2025).

Based on Bloomberg data, the rupiah closed appreciating 0.10% or 17 points to IDR 16,699 per US dollar. Meanwhile, at the same time the US dollar index strengthened 0.02% to 100.20.

Looking at the movement of currency exchange rates in other Asian countries against the US dollar, the Thai baht closed down 0.26%, the Chinese yuan weakened 0.02%, the Philippine peso weakened 0.07%, and the South Korean won weakened 0.29% per US dollar.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian ringgit strengthened 0.16% against the US dollar, the Indian rupee also strengthened 0.25%,the Singapore dollar strengthened 0.24%, and the Hong Kong dollar closed up 0.01% against the US dollar.

Currency and commodities observer Ibrahim Assuaibi explained a number of sentiments accompanying movements in the rupiah exchange rate. Globally, the market responded to rising expectations of the Fed’s policy easing in december.

“Speech by Fed officials and the return of US economic data suggest that the economy is solid, with a resilient labor market but prices remain high. The probability of a 25 basis point interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve (Fed) in December jumped to around 69% from around 44% a week earlier,” saeid Ibrahim in his research, Monday (24/11/2025).

Positive sentiment also came from the easing of the geopolitical conflict between the United States and Ukraine. Ibrahim said the US and Ukraine had made progress in negotiations on a peace plan that would require the two countries to cede territory and cancel plans to join NATO.

Consequently, Ibrahim believes that the peace agreement can lift sanctions that have curbed oil exports from Russia, the second largest crude oil producer in the world after the US.

Simultaneously occurring, domestic sentiment, the market responded positively to the IMF’s projection of Indonesia’s GDP growth of 5% to 5.8% in 2025 and 5% to 6% in 2026. The market saw it a
