Rupiah Exchange Rate Expected to Fluctuate

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – the rupiah exchange rate is expected to fluctuate but closed lower today, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in the range of IDR 16,780 to IDR 16,810 per US dollar.

According to Bloomberg,the rupiah weakened slightly by 0.06% or 10 points to IDR 16,787 per US dollar on Tuesday,december 23,2025. The US dollar index also weakened 0.25% or 0.24 points to 98.04.

Commodity and currency observer Ibrahim Assuaibi explained that global sentiment is influencing exchange rate movements. This includes growing geopolitical tensions between the United States and Venezuela,and renewed tensions between Iran and israel. These global conditions impact world oil trade.

“Looking ahead, the market expects the Fed to ease monetary policy further into 2026. Recent data shows cooling inflation and a weaker US labor market,” said Ibrahim on Tuesday.
