# Russell Brand Faces New Rape and Sexual Assault Charges
Russell Brand is facing additional criminal allegations, with two women accusing him of rape and sexual assault.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement on Tuesday announcing that the comedian, 50, has been charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault related to incidents involving two women.
“The women who have made reports, including those connected to the two new charges, continue to receive support from specially trained officers,” stated Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi in the press release.
Farooqi added, “The MetS examination remains ongoing, and detectives urge anyone affected by this case, or anyone with data, to come forward and speak with police. A dedicated team of investigators can be reached via email at CIT@met.police.uk.”
“Support is also available through the independent charity Rape Crisis by contacting the 24/7 rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line.”
Brand is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in January 2026 regarding these new charges.
