Russian forces launched nine breakthrough attempts across the Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours, according to a battlefield update released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The intense ground assaults coincided with widespread aerial bombardments targeting northern and central regions of the country, involving glide bombs, ballistic missiles, and waves of attack drones.
Ground Assaults on the Southern Slobozhansky and Kupiansk Fronts
Fighting remained intense across multiple sectors of the front line as Russian infantry pressed Ukrainian defensive positions. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy attacked Ukrainian forces eight times on the South-Slobozhansk direction near Nova Kazachka, Khrypuny, Reznikove, and Lozova. Further east on the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled a separate enemy assault in the Kupiansk area.
Across the entire front, the General Staff recorded 213 combat engagements during the 24-hour reporting period. Ground troops faced heavy aerial support as Russian forces carried out 86 airstrikes, deploying 253 guided aerial bombs against Ukrainian positions and frontline settlements. Military reports also documented 9,883 attacks using kamikaze drones, alongside 2,415 conventional artillery and mortar shellings, plus 32 strikes utilizing multiple launch rocket systems.
Air Raids and Ballistic Threats Across Northern Ukraine
The aerial campaign disrupted the night across Kharkiv and neighboring regions as air raid sirens sounded repeatedly. Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tracked initial groups of strike drones near Andriivka moving in a westward direction at 12:26 a.m.
The threat level escalated at 1:15 a.m. when authorities identified a ballistic missile launch threat originating from Kursk, Russia. Those missiles targeted central Ukraine, including the capital city of Kyiv, while waves of drones continued to cross airspace. Local authorities reported no confirmed structural impacts or casualties within the city of Kharkiv resulting from the overnight barrage.
