Rust Developers Accuse TiMi Studio of Asset Theft
Accusations of plagiarism and theft of game assets have emerged again in the gaming industry. Following the art plagiarism case in Marathon, it’s now Delta Force’s turn to face similar scrutiny. The issue arose when Alistair McFarlane, COO of Facepunch Studios, discovered a C4 asset in the latest Delta Force trailer that appeared identical to a model created by the rust team.
McFarlane immediately published his findings via tweet, providing a visual comparison demonstrating that the asset is the result of internal work by a Rust artist, complete with the exact same graphic details.
in the tweet, McFarlane also tagged TiMi Studio, the developer of delta Force, and asked for clarification regarding the asset. The tweet quickly gained traction, sparking a debate within the gaming community about the prevalence of asset theft and the need for stricter measures to protect the intellectual property of game developers.
As of now, TiMi Studio has not yet responded to the accusations. The situation is still developing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
