Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege – A Retro-Inspired Action RPG Arrives This April

Fans of classic Castlevania will have a new gothic adventure to sink their teeth into this April with the release of Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege. Developed by Lillymo Games, this 8-bit inspired hack-and-slash title promises a blood-drenched experience filled with challenging stages, monstrous bosses, and a killer chiptune soundtrack.

A Throwback to the NES Era

Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege draws heavily from the early era of Castlevania, offering a retro campaign with optional local co-op. Players will explore more than 21 handcrafted levels, upgrade their abilities and arsenal, and unlock multiple endings. The game features a distinctive 8-bit presentation, complete with pixelated gore and a relentless gothic atmosphere.

The Story of Rudiger, the Saint Slayer

Set in 1698, the game follows Rudiger, an ex-soldier turned farmer, as he attempts to protect his people from Father Pacer, a mysterious figure who is stealing Catholic relics throughout the Holy Roman Empire. Players must determine whether to help or hinder those who stand in Rudiger’s way as he battles a horde of monsters and minions.
