Salton City Man Charged in Murder of Hemet Teen T’Neya Tovar
A Salton City man, Abraham Feinbloom, has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old T’Neya Tovar, whose remains were discovered in December 2026. The case, which began with a missing person report in December, has unfolded with new digital evidence and a timeline revealing a tragic outcome.
Disappearance and Initial Search
T’Neya Tovar was reported missing on December 1, 2026, after she stopped responding to calls and texts from her mother, Charro Tovar. The teenager had run away from a foster group home in Hemet, but maintained regular contact with her mother. When communication ceased and a location-sharing app was disabled, Charro Tovar contacted authorities and launched a social media campaign pleading for help, utilizing platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook.
Investigators learned T’Neya was last seen at a residence on Harlequin Court in Salton City, belonging to 51-year-old Abraham Feinbloom. Imperial County sheriff’s deputies conducted welfare checks at the property in December, prompted by concerns from Tovar. The family also distributed missing person flyers in the area.
Discovery of Remains and Identification
On December 21, 2026, human remains – a dismembered leg – were found in a field near Portsmouth Avenue and Newhaven Court in the Vista Del Mar area of Salton City. It took over a month for DNA testing to confirm the remains belonged to T’Neya Tovar, with a positive match received on February 6, 2026. Investigators believe she was killed by gunshot, as bullet fragments were recovered from the remains.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Following two search warrants executed on February 6 and 13, 2026, Abraham Feinbloom was arrested after attempting to flee authorities. He pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree murder with a firearm enhancement in Imperial County Superior Court on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Authorities found him in possession of his passport and Thai currency at the time of his arrest.
Court records indicate Feinbloom previously faced felony kidnapping charges that were dismissed in 2019.
Family’s Plea and Remembrance
Charro Tovar has requested that her daughter be remembered for who she was as a person, not solely as a victim of murder. She plans to hold a candlelight vigil for T’Neya in front of the Salton City property on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
Feinbloom is scheduled to return to court on February 23, 2026, for a preliminary hearing.
