Chilpancingo, Gro., February 12, 2026.- As part of the strategy promoted by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda, to contain measles cases in the entity, the Guerrero Health Secretariat strengthened information and preventive actions in the regions of Acapulco, Montaña and Costa Chica.

The Secretary of Health in Guerrero, Alondra García Carbajal, reported that these activities are part of permanent work to protect the population, prioritizing prevention as the central axis of public health policy.

He noted that health personnel carry out guidelines aimed at the general population, where key measures are shared to avoid the spread of this disease, including the importance of completing vaccination schedules, going to medical units in a timely manner in the presence of symptoms and reinforcing basic hygiene practices.

Likewise, he mentioned that workshops on correct hand washing are held in educational centers, promoting healthy habits from childhood and strengthening the culture of prevention as a fundamental tool to reduce risks.

García Carbajal reiterated that prevention is a shared responsibility between authorities and citizens, which is why he called on mothers, fathers and the general population to obtain information through official sources, verify and complete vaccination, as well as maintain hygiene measures at home, school and living spaces.
