Generation17 young leaders recently visited Samsung Electronics’ headquarters in Seoul to collaborate with senior executives, engage in sustainability workshops, and celebrate the fifth cohort’s one-year anniversary, according to Samsung Newsroom.
Collaborative Workshops and Executive Engagements
During the visit, delegates participated in interactive sessions focusing on Samsung’s Galaxy for the Planet initiative and the future of artificial intelligence, as reported by Samsung Newsroom. Members also joined a collaborative workshop centered on the Samsung Global Goals app, exploring ways to boost user engagement and contribute development ideas. Generation17 member Efe Johnson stated, according to Samsung Newsroom, that technology serves as a vital tool with endless possibilities for amplifying impact, connection, and accessibility.
Fellow delegate José Francisco Ochoa noted that the tour provided deeper insight into Samsung’s long-term corporate vision and culture. Meanwhile, member Rahaf Abu Mayyaleh emphasized that representing the global community allows young advocates to share local solutions on an international platform, helping drive progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
UNDP Partnership and Innovation Sprints
In partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the delegation joined local entrepreneurs and students for a youth engagement session and mini-innovation sprint, according to Samsung Newsroom. The hands-on exercise targeted tech-enabled solutions for digital inclusion, sustainability, and equity. Dabriwal noted that the joint effort between Samsung and the UNDP offers unique inspiration for bridging diverse perspectives.
Cultural Immersion in Seoul
The itinerary concluded with cultural immersion activities in Seoul, including a visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace where the leaders wore traditional Korean attire, as detailed by Samsung Newsroom. The trip marked a milestone for the fifth cohort, fostering peer connections and shared learning across the international network.
