Samsung Exynos 2700: 2nm Power vs. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

Samsung has officially initiated mass production of the Exynos 2700 chipset on its second-generation 2nm Gate-All-Around node, setting initial volume targets more than 10 percent higher than its predecessor, according to reports from The Elec and Wccftech.

Exynos 2700 Enters Mass Production for Galaxy S27 Series

Samsung System LSI has moved the Exynos 2700 beyond small-scale sample production and into front-end wafer mass manufacturing. Wccftech reported that tipster Ice Universe confirmed the production ramp-up on October 2, 2026. The increased volume accounts for a new addition to the flagship lineup: the Galaxy S27 Pro. Samsung plans to feature the Exynos 2700 in the vanilla, plus, and pro models of the Galaxy S27 series sold in Korea and Europe. Meanwhile, units shipped to the US and China will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.

The chip utilizes Samsung’s SF2P process node. Compared to the first-generation SF2 node used for the Exynos 2600, the SF2P technology delivers a 12 percent performance improvement, a 25 percent reduction in power usage, and an 8 percent decrease in chip area. The silicon is also expected to transition from Arm C1 CPU cores to newer Arm C2 cores, targeting a 4.00GHz clock frequency.

Exynos 2700 Outperforms Snapdragon in Multi-Core Tests

Internal benchmark testing cited by The Elec indicates that the Exynos 2700 outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 by 9.5 percent in multi-core Geekbench tests. Wccftech noted that despite the multi-core advantage, Qualcomm’s competing processor maintains an edge in single-core test metrics. However, analysts point out that Samsung’s internal tests have not yet disclosed detailed power draw figures or sustained thermal metrics.

Samsung MX, the division responsible for manufacturing the physical devices, holds final authority over whether the processor will also power the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra. Division leadership is currently evaluating multiple variables, including benchmark results, thermal behavior, pricing for Qualcomm silicon, and foundry production capacity for the SF2P node.

Galaxy S27 Series Targets February or March 2027 Debut

Industry supply chain estimates indicate a three-to-four-month window between initial chipset mass production and the availability of finished retail consumer hardware. This timeline aligns with Samsung’s traditional launch schedule, positioning the Galaxy S27 series for a formal commercial debut in February or March 2027. Wccftech noted that relying exclusively on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips represents a high financial outlay for Samsung, given that Qualcomm manufactures those components using TSMC’s 2nm N2P fabrication technology.

Which Regions Will Receive the Exynos 2700?

Which regions will receive the Exynos 2700 in the Galaxy S27 lineup?

Samsung will equip the vanilla, plus, and pro models of the Galaxy S27 series with the Exynos 2700 in Korea and Europe. Units sold in the US and China will switch to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips.

What process node does the Exynos 2700 use?

The chipset is fabricated on Samsung’s SF2P process, which is a second-generation 2nm Gate-All-Around node offering a 12 percent performance boost and 25 percent lower power usage than the first-generation SF2 node.

Has Samsung confirmed the Exynos 2700 for the Galaxy S27 Ultra?

No final decision has been announced regarding the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Samsung MX is currently weighing thermal performance, benchmark results, Qualcomm pricing, and SF2P manufacturing capacity before deciding on top-tier adoption.
