Samsung Reportedly Developing Wider Foldable Phone Focused on Productivity

Samsung is reportedly working on a new foldable smartphone with a wider form factor, prioritizing document work and multitasking capabilities. This device is predicted to complement the existing Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip lines, potentially representing a new product category within Samsung’s foldable portfolio.

A New Form Factor for Enhanced Productivity

According to a report from Bloomberg Technoz, citing Digital Chat Station, a well-known leaker on the Weibo platform, the new Samsung foldable will feature a 4:3 screen folding ratio. This differs from the more elongated aspect ratios of current foldable phones and is intended to improve usability for tasks like document editing and multitasking. The wider design, however, may result in a device that is less comfortable to hold when folded.

While the project is underway, the development team is still refining the design. A release date for the new foldable is anticipated sometime this year, though specific timing remains unconfirmed.

Early rumors regarding the Galaxy S27 Ultra suggest a potential upgrade to the main 200MP sensor, utilizing a new ISOCELL HPA sensor with LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology to improve dynamic range and low-light performance, as reported by 9to5Google.
