Samsung Enters Credit Market with Samsung Galaxy Card
Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy Card, a credit card designed to integrate financial services directly into its mobile ecosystem. Issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank and powered by the Visa network, the card provides tiered cashback rewards for Samsung product purchases and digital services, according to an official company announcement.
Reward Tiers and Financial Incentives
The Samsung Galaxy Card uses a tiered cashback structure to incentivize spending within the company’s hardware and software ecosystem. According to Samsung, cardholders earn 5% cashback on eligible purchases made directly with Samsung and 3% cashback for payments processed through Samsung Wallet.
The card also extends rewards to third-party digital services and general spending:
- 2% cashback: Streaming platforms including Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify.
- 1% cashback: All other eligible transactions.
- VIP Benefits: A 20% discount on Samsung VIP Advantage, with an additional 5% refund on the subscription cost, subject to terms and conditions.
To attract new users, Samsung is offering a sign-up bonus of up to $200 in cashback for customers who spend $2,000 within the first 90 days of opening an account.
Integration with Samsung Wallet and Knox Security
The card is designed for seamless integration with Samsung Wallet, allowing users to store the card alongside digital IDs, tickets, and keys. Samsung states that the card is available in both a virtual format and a premium physical metal version featuring the brand’s black logo.

Security for the financial data is managed via Samsung Knox. According to the company, this military-grade protection system provides a hardware-backed layer of security to safeguard transaction data and personal information on the device.

Samsung’s move into the credit market mirrors a strategy previously adopted by Apple with the launch of the Apple Card.
