Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series, introducing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+ to its mobile lineup. The new devices pair 3nm processing architecture with integrated Galaxy AI features, offering an ultra-thin hardware profile designed to handle intensive multitasking, creative workloads, and academic coursework.
Hardware Performance and Specifications
At 5.1mm thick, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra measures as Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab, according to company specifications. Under the hood, a cutting-edge 3nm processor drives the hardware, delivering up to a 61% increase in neural processing unit (NPU) speed, 19% faster central processing unit (CPU) performance, and 17% graphics processing unit (GPU) gains compared to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
To sustain performance under heavy workloads like video editing or graphic design, Samsung integrated a newly designed 3D Vapor Chamber for heat dissipation. Both tablets also carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, protecting internal components against environmental exposure.
Display Technologies and Audio Capabilities
The lineup features large-format Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens built for multi-window productivity. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra sports a 14.6-inch panel, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ utilizes a 12.6-inch display framed by slimmer bezels than its predecessor.
Both displays reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness and incorporate an upgraded Vision Booster utility that modulates luminance levels in real time based on ambient lighting. For media consumption and communication, the devices utilize a 4-channel spatial audio layout, doubling the speaker channel count of the previous generation.
Battery Life and Power Management
Portable stamina is anchored by high-capacity internal cells. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra delivers up to 23 hours of continuous battery life on a single charge, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ provides up to 21 hours. Using a 45W power adapter, both models replenish from empty to full capacity in approximately 95 minutes.
Software Integration and Executive Perspective
Running Android 17 with One UI 9, the tablets consolidate note-taking, AI assistance, and research tools into a unified workspace. Each unit ships bundled with an ergonomically designed S Pen for precision input.
