Family Continues Search for Justice in 2018 Murder of San Antonio Rapper Christopher Polk

The family of Christopher Polk, a San Antonio rapper murdered in 2018, continues to seek answers and justice eight years after his death. Despite the passage of time, they remain committed to keeping his memory alive and ensuring his killer is brought to justice.

The Murder of Christopher Polk

On February 24, 2018, 25-year-traditional Christopher Polk was shot and killed whereas driving on Loop 410 near Callaghan Road in San Antonio. According to the San Antonio Police Department, a black four-door sedan pulled in front of Polk’s car and opened fire. Simultaneously, a passenger in a silver SUV alongside them too began shooting. Polk was struck multiple times and died at the scene. His manager, who was also shot, managed to stop the car.

A Family’s Unwavering Pursuit of Justice

Elizabeth Polk, Christopher’s mother, emphasizes that for her family, this is not about finding closure, but about securing justice for her son. “For the public and for SAPD this is just an unsolved murder case,” Polk said. “But for us, his family — it’s a daily reminder that someone set out and succeeded at taking my son’s life.”

The family is determined to ensure that Christopher’s daughter, Kadence, who was two years old at the time of his death and will turn ten this year, knows her father and his legacy. “We continue to show the pictures that we have of them together,” Polk said. “Because it’s sad that she has to go through life not knowing what it feels like to grow up with her dad.”

Christopher Polk’s Legacy

Christopher Polk, known as “Peezy,” was a local rapper who had been pursuing his musical career under the brand “Ape Life,” which stood for “After Paper Everyday.” His family has since opened a store in Rolling Oaks Mall to honor his memory and promote his brand. WOAI News reported that the store represents a step forward in the healing process for the family.

Ongoing Investigation and Reward

The San Antonio Police Department continues to actively investigate Christopher Polk’s murder. As of now, no arrests have been made.
