San Antonio Ready to Perform Advisory Board Seeks Applicants
The City of San Antonio is currently accepting applications for its Ready to Work Advisory Board. The application deadline is April 1, 2026.
Board’s Role and Responsibilities
The San Antonio Ready to Work Advisory Board plays a crucial role in maximizing the effectiveness of the city’s workforce development program, Ready to Work. The Board advises the Workforce Development Office (WDO) on key areas, including:
- Identifying in-demand occupations within the San Antonio area.
- Ensuring training programs align with the needs of local employers.
- Determining the annual allocation of funding for workforce certificate and degree programs.
- Evaluating the levels of support services provided to program participants.
In addition to providing guidance, the Board also functions as a Community Program Ambassador, actively promoting participation in the Ready to Work program among residents and encouraging local employers to hire program graduates. The Board also provides input on budgetary allocations.
Board Composition
The San Antonio Ready to Work Advisory Board is comprised of 11 members, representing a diverse range of stakeholders:
- Four representatives from local employers offering in-demand occupations.
- Two current or previous participants in City Workforce Programs.
- One representative from a trade or labor organization.
- One community organization representative.
- One representative from a training provider or higher education institution.
- Two liaisons/representatives appointed by the Mayor.
Meeting Schedule
The Board convenes on the third Tuesday of every other month, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at locations hosted by Ready to Work partner agencies or community stakeholders.
