Students Outraged by Livestream at San Diego High School

Students at a San Diego high school expressed outrage after an online streamer rented the school’s gymnasium for a livestream sponsored by an adult content subscription site. The stream featured scantily clad women and a depiction of a crucifixion.

The event, livestreamed from Canyon Crest Academy starting Saturday, involved a 24-hour stream by a twitch user known as Wubby, or “PayMoneyWubby,” and was sponsored by a site called Fansly. The Canyon Crest Academy Foundation rents out the gymnasium for private events.

Several students discovered the event on friday when they were denied access to the gym due to equipment setup. Curiosity led them to tune into the stream, which they described as containing inappropriate content for a school setting.

“The first thing I see is a full-grown adult, an adult man wearing a baby costume and being fed milk from a baby bottle. I was like, OK, that’s kind of weird,” said student Parker Jaconette. “We check on it again a couple hours later, and ther’s another dude who’s eating chocolate off of the feet of adult film content creators.”

“People have just been saying how disgusting, or like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe this happened,'” said student Rihanna roohanni. “It’s not safe for students, especially those who are underage.”

“it feels nasty. It’s gross. I’m astonished. I can’t believe my school woudl allow semi-pornographic performers to come to the school and film on campus,” said student Giordano Bruno.

The school’s principal sent an email to parents on Sunday, describing the production as “inappropriate, distasteful, and in conflict with our institution’s core values.”

“The production was in violation of the standards set forth by the district and CCA foundation in the Use of Facilities license Agreement,” Principal Brett Killeen’s email stated. “We are working with our District to engage legal counsel to examine our options to hold the parties involved accountable.”
