Santiago del Estero province’s Civil Defense agency responded to localized flooding and storm damage in the early morning hours of March 5, 2026, assisting residents in the towns of Atos Posture and Vuelta de la Barranca. According to Mario Guzmán, Director of Provincial Civil Defense, the intervention focused on homes affected by intense rainfall.

Guzmán indicated that, as of early reports, no widespread or major damage had been recorded across the rest of Santiago del Estero. “Thank God, so far we have no major damage,” he stated according to Radio LV11.
