São Paulo carried out a survey with Ponte Preta and the São Paulo Football Federation with the aim of buying control of the field for the match in the last round of the Campeonato Paulista. The possibility, however, did not move forward due to the deadline set out in Paulistão’s regulations, and the game is being held at Moisés Lucarelli.
With Ponte Preta already relegated in Paulistão, the São Paulo board’s idea was to transfer the match to Morumbis, betting on greater revenue from box office and public presence. The movement was treated in a preliminary manner, as an informal consultation, without an official proposal filed or values presented. The idea was an initiative of President Harry Massis Júnior.

According to sources heard by the UOLthe Ponte Preta board did not appear irreducible at first and would be willing to listen to a possible financial offer for the game. However, the possibility ended up being discarded by the São Paulo Football Federation due to the deadline set out in the competition regulations.
