Klaus Mäkelä to be Featured in Film and Concert Event at Sciences Po Toulouse Festival

The Sciences Po Toulouse Master Culture Festival, running from March 16 to 19, 2026, will present a unique event pairing a film screening with a live musical performance. The festival, in partnership with the ABC, will showcase two films exploring the worlds of classical music and metal, accompanied by a performance from a duo blending lyrical and metal vocal styles.

Film Screenings

The event will feature two screenings:

  • We The Orchestra by Philippe Béziat: A preview screening offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Orchestre de Paris and its young conductor, Klaus Mäkelä.
  • Sound of Metal by Darius Marder: A critically acclaimed film following a drummer’s journey as he begins to lose his hearing. Telerama describes it as “a virtuoso film, which transforms the deafness of a drummer into a sensory odyssey.”

Musical Performance

Accompanying the screenings will be a performance by a duo comprised of Eugenie from the lyrical singing association Shared Voices and Liz, singer of the Toulouse metal group Deadbane.
