Feyenoord striker Nacho Ferri has netted five goals in the Eredivisie, establishing himself as a key attacking player in Rotterdam after early doubts from supporters. Early discovery at UD Alzira and German move
Simón Cabrelles and José Viñas discovered Ferri at age 16 while he played for Spanish club UD Alzira. Cabrelles noted that the player possessed rare physical and technical traits for a teenager. “I saw things that belong to a real center forward,” Cabrelles told ESPN. “He was a somewhat lanky striker with a large build, who despite his height possessed good technical skills and a lot of explosiveness.”
Viñas also recognized the forward’s potential during those early youth matches, noting a game where Ferri scored two goals. “His mentality and physical strength also struck me, even if it wasn’t very well coordinated yet,” Viñas said, adding, “I saw a player who could develop into an interesting professional footballer, with the potential to play at a high level in European competitions.”
Ferri chose to move to Germany at a young age, a transition Viñas described as very difficult. “In the beginning it was very hard for Nacho,” Viñas stated, while noting that the player’s mindset was always great and that he knew exactly what he wanted: to become a professional footballer. Viñas added that there was really no doubt for Ferri about whether he should go to Germany to play football, expressing strong confidence that the teenager had what it took to become a pro and calling him a truly fantastic guy. Feyenoord noted that Ferri subsequently played for KV Kortrijk and KVC Westerlo before securing his transfer to Feyenoord.

Adaptation at Feyenoord and future outlook
Supporters in Rotterdam initially met Ferri’s signing with skepticism, according to Cabrelles. However, the scout maintained confidence that the forward would succeed once he adjusted to the physical demands of Dutch training sessions.
Both scouts expressed optimism that the Spaniard can continue developing his physical and technical attributes to help Feyenoord compete for silverware in European and domestic competitions. Ferri’s representative noted that the player has everything it takes to keep making strides in the difficult football world in the coming years, citing physical and technical qualities alongside a maturity shown ever since leaving for a country where he did not speak the language at age 16 and having to perform from day one.
