South Dakota State Women’s Golf Secures First Summit League Championship
MESA, Ariz. – The South Dakota State Jackrabbits women’s golf team achieved a historic milestone on Tuesday, winning their first Summit League Championship at Longbow Golf Club. The team finished with a three-round total of 882 (+30), narrowly defeating Denver by six strokes.
McKenzie Mages Claims Individual Title
Senior McKenzie Mages led the Jackrabbits to victory, securing the individual championship with a score of 212 (-1). Mages dominated the competition, particularly with a 68 in the second round and maintained a steady performance with an even-par 71 in the final round. This marks SDSU’s third overall conference individual title and the first since 2021, when Teresa Toscano earned the honor.
Team Performance and Standings
All five Jackrabbits finished within the top 25 of the championship. Hannah Boraas tied for seventh place with a final tally of +10. Riko Danjo tied for 17th, Molly O’Hara tied for 20th, and Reese Jansa tied for 24th.

Denver finished second with a total score of 888 (+36), after posting the best round of the day with a 288 (+4). Oral Roberts secured third place at 890 (+38), followed by North Dakota State in fourth at 895 (+43). South Dakota finished fifth at 903 (+51), and St. Thomas took sixth at 909 (+57). Omaha (914; +62) and North Dakota (953; +101) rounded out the standings.
Summit League Championship History
South Dakota State is now the fourth team to win the Summit League Women’s Golf Championship, joining Oral Roberts (15 titles), North Dakota State (1 title), and Denver (10 titles). Denver had previously won six consecutive championships and 10 of the last 11 before SDSU’s victory.
