SEIU Local 721 Membership Analyst Position Available
SEIU Local 721, the largest public sector union in Southern California representing over 100,000 workers, is seeking a Membership Analyst. This salaried position within the Membership Department reports to the Director of Membership or their designee. The primary focus of this role is to ensure accurate and timely receipt of membership dues and information from employers.
Essential Functions
- Manage, process, analyze, and audit employer-provided data and union records, identifying and resolving discrepancies according to Union policies and procedures.
- Produce and present reports and statistical information derived from the database.
- Collaborate with employers to establish payroll deductions and improve HR processes.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal department leaders and their teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address systemic issues, proposing solutions.
- Ensure accurate and timely implementation of dues rates and changes.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation.
- Audit and report findings for rebates and refunds.
- Analyze contracts to identify potential improvements in language.
- Maintain the security and integrity of all Local 721 data.
- Demonstrate familiarity with collections processes.
- Provide database troubleshooting support.
- Create, manage, and track audit metrics.
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, often under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a large, complex, and fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relational databases, including importing, exporting, and manipulating files.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others.
- May require working long hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Customer service experience, preferably with public employers or other organizational departments.
- Willingness to travel.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range as of September 1, 2025: $90,802.52 (entry) – $96,419.16 (10+ years).
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- This is a salaried position covered by an OPEIU bargaining unit contract.
