Amgen is actively recruiting a Senior Oncology Specialist to cover a territory encompassing San Antonio, Kerrville, Corpus Christi, McAllen, and Brownsville, Texas. This field-based role focuses on building relationships with medical professionals and providing clinical expertise on Amgen’s oncology products.
Role Overview
The Senior Oncology Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering comprehensive clinical information and communicating the clinical and economic benefits of Amgen’s therapies. The position requires a strong oncology background and the ability to develop and execute territory plans to achieve sales targets. Key responsibilities include managing accounts, addressing reimbursement issues, and crafting effective marketing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering sales messages and scheduling medical educational programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, ensuring product access and resolving reimbursement challenges.
- Analyze territory performance and develop strategic plans with the District Manager.
- Demonstrate a passion for Amgen’s products and maintain a strong understanding of the oncology landscape.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously enhance knowledge.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of sales and/or clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field. Alternatively, an Associate’s degree with six years of experience, or a High School diploma/GED with eight years of experience will be considered.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience in oncology, product or hospital sales within relevant specialties (oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases), and local market knowledge. A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration is also preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected annual salary range for this position in the U.S. Is $158,727 to $177,179.
