Senna Agius Encounters Local Riders in Mandalika
Moto2 rider Senna Agius experienced an unexpected roadside encounter while cycling in the Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Mandalika area of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, as reported by oto.detik.com. The Australian rider, currently competing for Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP, spotted two local children riding a Honda Supra motorcycle equipped with a loud aftermarket exhaust known locally as a knalpot brong. The young rider kept revving the machine right beside Senna as he pedaled his bicycle past them, seemingly unaware that he was showing off his riding skills directly in front of a professional motorcycle racer.
The situation turned comical when the motorcycle suddenly stalled. OtoDream added that the young driver appeared unaware that he was revving his engine directly in front of a professional motorcycle racer. The child tried to restart the vehicle repeatedly using the kick starter, but his attempts failed as Senna watched from close range and said, Kick it,
while laughing alongside the relaxed roadside atmosphere. The Australian rider captured the interaction and shared it on his Instagram account, @sennaagius_81, captioning the post with the words Gen Z in Indo hectic.
Preparation for the 2026 Indonesian Grand Prix
The lighthearted interaction took place as international racing teams arrived in Lombok following the previous race in Motegi, Japan. Riders, team crews, and Dorna Sports officials gathered at the venue ahead of the official schedule. The event marks the 17th round of the world championship, scheduled to run from October 9 through October 11, 2026, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. This encounter adds to a history of casual off-track interactions between riders and locals in Lombok, following past instances where Moto2 riders were seen purchasing fuel at retail roadside stalls or parodying local ice cream vendors near the beach.
Track activities open on Friday, October 9, with Free Practice 1 followed by the main Practice session in the afternoon. Saturday, October 10, features Free Practice 2, the qualifying sessions, and a 13-lap Sprint Race in the afternoon. The main Grand Prix race takes place on Sunday, October 11, covering a distance of 27 laps.

Career Transition to KTM Tech 3
Agius is set to make a major career step after the current Moto2 campaign. The young rider will graduate to the premier MotoGP class starting in the 2027 season, joining the KTM Tech 3 squad. Within the team, he will serve as the teammate to Luca Marini as he takes on the premier class grid.
