Seoul Jazz Festival Claims Top Spot in National Competitiveness Index
The Seoul Jazz Festival has captured first place in the music category of the Korea Festival Attractiveness Index (KFAI). Travel research institute Yanolja Research announced the results on the 11th, placing the event tenth overall out of 1,452 festivals nationwide evaluated through big data analysis of social media.
Researchers analyzed major social media data across 1,452 festivals to evaluate visitor experiences and overall festival attractiveness quantitatively and qualitatively.
Within the index, the Seoul Jazz Festival took first place for music festivals and second place for recognition, ultimately finishing tenth across all evaluated festivals and fourth within the Seoul region. The festival also placed fifth nationwide in the recognition category.
Massive Scale, Star-Studded Lineups, and Rapid Ticket Sales
Now in its 18th year, the festival regularly attracts about 60 domestic and international artists and draws roughly 60,000 attendees per event. Ticket sales consistently show strong demand, with blind tickets selling out before lineups are announced, followed by rapid sellouts for early bird tickets, single-day passes, and three-day passes.
The 2007-established event featured international jazz and soul headliners including Herbie Hancock, Jon Batiste, and Arturo Sandoval. Domestic acts performing on the lineup included Epik High, Hyukoh, Silica Gel, Hanroro, and NCT members Taeyong and Haechan.
Immersive On-Site Content Drives High Evaluation Scores
Beyond music performances, the event grounds featured official merchandise booths, food and beverage stations, brand activations, experiential programs, and designated photo zones. The KFAI evaluation specifically cited the ability to see multiple global jazz and soul acts in one location alongside diverse on-site activities as primary drivers of its high score.
Private Curve Outlines Future Growth Strategy
Private Curve, the organizing company behind the event, stated that the ranking reflects years of effort to build a complete single-day festival experience for attendees. The company plans to continue developing differentiated lineups and content to expand its reach among global audiences and artists.
