The closure of the Spar store had a noticeable impact on Sérignac-sur-Garonne, and its reopening was met with enthusiasm from locals. “It’s a chance for us, Sérignacais, to have this business in our village. Having it is one thing, you now have to perpetuate it by coming to make your purchases there,” a customer shared with La Dépêche du Midi.
The store saw a strong turnout on its reopening day, with residents eager to support the local business. The reopening coincided with Valentine’s Day, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Latest Management and a Refreshed Store
David Lynch and Emma Bugeade are the new managers of the Spar in Sérignac-sur-Garonne. They have undertaken a comprehensive redesign of the store, carefully rearranging the layout and stocking the shelves with a variety of products. “We redesigned the entire store. Everything has been rearranged. The shelves are carefully stocked,” explained Emma Bugeade to La Dépêche du Midi.
The team includes three employees – Mathéo Bugeade (Emma’s brother), Lucas, and Nathan – working to maintain the store’s seven-day-a-week operation.
Focus on Local Products and Extended Hours
The new management is prioritizing local products to support regional producers and offer customers fresh, high-quality options. The store now features meat from Temple-sur-Lot, pasta and preserves from the Gammareix artisanal cannery (which employs people with disabilities), and a selection of locally sourced cheeses.
To better serve the community, Spar Sérignac-sur-Garonne has extended its opening hours. The store is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. To 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. To 8 p.m.
