A man in his 40s has died and three people have been charged with grievous bodily harm resulting in death.
The police wrote that in a press release on Friday morning.
On Thursday evening 1 January, the police received a report that three civilians had taken physical control of a person on a construction site at Tjensvoll in Stavanger.

According to the police, the reason why the people intervened was that thay suspected that the person in question intended to steal objects from the construction site.
In connection with the fact that they took physical control of the person, the person stopped breathing, the police write.
CPR was started on the spot, and the person was transported to Stavanger University hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 22:51.
