Delaware Edges Out Middle Tennessee in Overtime Thriller, 89-88

NEWARK, Del. — Justyn Fernandez’s clutch jump shot with 17 seconds remaining in overtime secured an 89-88 victory for the Delaware Blue Hens over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Bob Carpenter Center.

Game Recap

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams battling fiercely. Middle Tennessee established an early lead, taking a 43-41 advantage into halftime, fueled by efficient shooting and capitalizing on Delaware turnovers. The Blue Raiders scored 13 points off Blue Hen miscues in the first half.

Delaware rallied in the second half, overcoming a 10-point deficit with strong perimeter shooting. Kamari Lands hit two free throws with 19 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 79-79 and force overtime.
