Shy’m Steps Back from ‘Chicago’ Musical Due to Health Concerns

Shy’m has once again paused her performances in the musical “Chicago” at the Casino de Paris, citing medical reasons. This marks the second time the singer has had to withdraw from the production.

Following performances on January 24th and 25th, Shy’m announced her temporary departure from the role of Velma Kelly, a cabaret singer accused of double murder. She previously stepped away from the musical in December 2025 on medical advice according to Le Parisien.

Shy’m’s Statement

In a message posted on the musical’s Instagram account, Shy’m explained she continues to experience dizziness that prevents her from performing. She described experiencing “trying weeks” and referenced a head injury, stating she needs time to address her health. She expressed hope to return to the stage “quickly.”

Lisa Lanteri to Fill In

Actress Lisa Lanteri will temporarily replace Shy’m in the role of Velma Kelly. Le Parisien reports that Shy’m described the work involved in the musical as more demanding than anticipated, even harder than she expected.
