Sienna Miller Embraces Motherhood Again at 44
Sienna Miller, the acclaimed actress known for roles in films like 21 Bridges and Anatomy of a Scandal, is expecting her third child, her second with boyfriend Oli Green. The pregnancy has prompted Miller to reflect on the joys and shifts in perspective that come with motherhood at different stages of life.
Finding Serenity in Expanding Her Family
In a recent interview with Glamour, Miller shared her feelings about becoming a mother again at age 44. She contrasted this experience with having her first child at 29, noting a significant difference in her emotional state. “Having had a baby at 29, and then having a baby at 42, and now 44, it’s so much easier when you don’t have the conflict of feeling scattered and like you want to be doing X, Y, Z,” she explained. She now finds contentment in simple pleasures, like reading in bed, and feels less pressure to constantly strive for more.
A Shift in Priorities and Self-Perception
Miller attributes this newfound serenity to a greater sense of self-awareness that comes with age. “I think the 30s are chaos. You’re like, ‘I want to settle down. I want kids,’” she said. “But by the time you hit 40, you’re like, ‘I kind of know who I am. I don’t really provide a s–t about what anyone else thinks.’ I’m a much more grounded human.” She questioned societal expectations surrounding women and motherhood, pointing out the lack of judgment often afforded to older fathers. “We don’t judge men who are having kids in their 80s. Why on earth is there any sort of narrative?”
Embracing Aging and the “Biohack” of Pregnancy
Miller views pregnancy as a positive experience, even at an older age. “You’re lucky if you get to get older,” she noted. She playfully referred to pregnancy as a “biohack,” citing the hormonal and physiological benefits. She similarly expressed relief at having previously frozen her eggs, although she ultimately did not require to use them to conceive this child. Yahoo News UK reported that Miller stated she felt “existential relief” having taken that step in her late 30s.
Miller’s Family Life
This will be Miller’s third child overall. She is already a mother to a 13-year-old daughter, Marlow, with ex-boyfriend Tom Sturridge, and a 2-year-old daughter with Oli Green. E! Online confirmed the pregnancy on March 24, 2026.
Miller’s openness about her experiences reflects a broader cultural shift towards embracing motherhood at all ages and challenging traditional societal norms.
