Sigma Announces Pricing and Availability for 28-105mm T3 FF Autofocus Cine Zoom Lens

Sigma has announced the pricing and availability for the 28-105mm T3 FF lens, the second in its line of cinema autofocus zoom lenses. Originally announced in June 2025, the lens builds upon the optical formula of the Sigma 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN Art lens, adapting it for professional filmmaking.

Building on the Art Lineage

The Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF is based on the optical design of the Sigma 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN Art lens released in 2024. Sigma states that the cine lens aims to deliver comparable image quality to its still photography counterpart, while incorporating features essential for cinematographers.

Designed for Cinema Production

Sigma highlights the lens’s features tailored for professional video production, including a limited-rotation ring for intuitive manual focus, near-silent autofocus operation, and 0.8M pitch gears compatible with standard video gear systems. The aperture ring offers smooth, clickless movement, and external indicators aid in seamless manual operation. The lens’s length changes during zooming.

Advanced Features and Specifications

The lens boasts an advanced optical design for outstanding image rendering, professional-grade mechanical design, and an autofocus system with excellent tracking capability and near-silent operation. It measures 157.9 millimeters (6.3 inches) in length and accepts 95mm front filters.

Manual Focus Performance

Recent advancements in focus-by-wire systems have addressed previous concerns about manual focus usability. Sigma, along with Fujifilm, appears to have successfully developed systems that provide a manual focus experience comparable to mechanically coupled lenses. During hands-on testing at Cine Gear, the manual focus operation of the lens did not appear to be hindered by the autofocus system.

Pricing and Availability

The Sigma AF Cine 28-105mm T3 FF will be available starting April 16, 2026, with a price of $3,399. It will be available in Sony E and Leica L mounts.
