Silja Stöhr: A Rising star in Gymnastics

Germany’s Silja Stöhr quickly established herself as a reliable competitor with a strong performance as an all-around finalist in her world championships debut in Jakarta two months ago.

Stöhr, who placed 21st all-around in Jakarta, has steadily improved throughout her junior and senior career. She contributed to the German team’s bronze medal win at the 2022 European Junior Championships in Munich, and their gold medal victory in the junior division at the 2023 DTB Pokal in Stuttgart.She finished 38th all-around in qualifications at the 2023 junior World Championships in Antalya.Last year, she transitioned to the senior ranks, achieving sixth all-around at the German championships and helping Germany place sixth at the European Championships in Rimini.

Stöhr’s success continued into 2025. She reached her first World Cup final at the World Cup of Cottbus in February, placing eighth on uneven bars. She then secured three silver medals (all-around, balance beam, and mixed team) at the DTB Pokal in March, followed by sixth all-around and second on floor exercise at the German Championships in August. Last month, she finished eighth all-around at the Arthur Gander Memorial in Switzerland.

Born May 13, 2008, in Mannheim, Stöhr represents SG Heddesheim and trains at TG Mannheim. She also competes for TG Mannheim in the Bundesliga (German gymnastics league). Her coaches include Narina Kirakosyan (vault and balance beam) and Dmitri Loschakov (uneven bars and floor exercise).
