Swedish Man Jailed for Molesting Three Women in Singapore
A Swedish national, Jan Roger Mattias Ditlofsson, 58, was sentenced to five months and six weeks in jail on March 16, 2026, for molesting three women in Singapore. Ditlofsson pleaded guilty to three charges of using criminal force to outrage modesty.

Ditlofsson arrived in Singapore on October 1, 2025, to attend the Formula One race. The incidents occurred at a hotel and a restaurant.
First Incident
After consuming approximately six or seven cans of beer on October 3, 2025, Ditlofsson entered a hotel and approached a 47-year-old female chef setting up a buffet line. He asked her for the location of the swimming pool and then kissed her twice on the left cheek. The chef reported the incident to her supervisor after her shift.
Second Incident
On the same day, Ditlofsson grabbed the right breast of a 60-year-old woman who was taking a video of the food at the buffet section of the same hotel. The woman informed her friend, who confronted Ditlofsson. Hotel staff subsequently alerted the police, and Ditlofsson was arrested.
Third Incident
While out on court bail for the first two incidents, Ditlofsson molested a 23-year-old waitress at another restaurant. When the waitress offered him a drink, he reached out his hand, and when she extended hers, he kissed the back of it. The waitress expressed her anger and pulled her hand away.
Court Proceedings and Sentencing
Deputy Public Prosecutor Joel Fun sought a jail term of six to eight months, arguing that Ditlofsson’s actions demonstrated a disregard for the personal autonomy and dignity of women. Defense lawyer Barry Douglas Delaney highlighted Ditlofsson’s Swedish nationality and cultural differences regarding cheek kissing, but conceded that this did not excuse his behavior after reviewing CCTV footage of the offences.
The court heard that those who use criminal force to outrage the modesty of a victim can face a jail term of up to three years, a fine, caning, or a combination of these punishments. The victims’ identities are protected by a gag order.
