Singtel Faces Fresh Service Disruption Amid Ongoing Network Adjustments

Singapore – Singtel experienced another service disruption on Monday, March 23, 2026, impacting thousands of users, primarily those relying on broadband internet. The incident, which began around 3:15 PM and was reportedly resolved within 15 minutes, follows a series of outages last week, including a nine-hour interruption on March 16.

What Happened?

According to Singtel, the latest disruption stemmed from an “international traffic optimisation issue” and was unrelated to the previous outages. As of 3:45 PM, over 9,000 reports of issues were logged, with approximately half related to broadband internet access. Channel NewsAsia and The Straits Times both reported on the incident.

Customer Reactions

The disruption sparked frustration among Singtel customers, many of whom took to social media to voice their concerns. Users reported difficulties with online meetings, email access and phone connections. One Facebook user, Benny Tan, stated, “Appears Singtel broadband is down.” Another, Bernice Tay, highlighted the impact on her perform, saying, “I am working without the proper connection that affects all my online meetings, email, and even two phone connections!”

Other Telcos Report No Disruptions

While Singtel faced the brunt of the issues, reports of disruptions also briefly spiked for StarHub and M1. However, both telcos confirmed to CNA that their networks were operating normally. StarHub stated, “All services, including broadband, were operating as per normal,” while M1 confirmed that its broadband and mobile services were not disrupted.

Singtel’s Response and Ongoing Adjustments

Singtel acknowledged the disruption in a Facebook post, apologizing for the inconvenience caused. The company stated that its teams had been working to optimize mobile network performance and address the root causes of recent incidents. They also emphasized that the network had been “vigorously tested” over the past three days to ensure stability. Mothership.sg reported on Singtel’s apology and ongoing efforts.

Recent History of Singtel Outages

This latest incident follows a pattern of service disruptions at Singtel. Last week, the telco experienced three consecutive days of outages, culminating in an eight-hour interruption on March 16 that impacted essential services like payments, ride-hailing, and food delivery. Business Times detailed the recent history of outages.
