Dark Pals: The 2nd Floor DLC Expansion Announced for 2027 Release

Skunx Games announced Dark Pals: The 2nd Floor on October 1, scheduling the DLC expansion for a 2027 release following the viral success of its predecessor. The upcoming title continues the experience established by Dark Pals: The 1st Floor, a Steam indie game slated to launch in 2026, which has already accumulated over one billion views across livestreams, short videos, and social media content within two months of its initial exposure.

Players Explore a Destroyed Underground Facility

Players step into the elevator immediately following the events of the first game, descending into a destroyed underground facility abandoned for over four decades. The decaying halls contain vintage Dark Pals equipment and physical remnants of an event referred to as “the raid,” which gradually explains what happened to the installation and its personnel. Deeper inside, players encounter a mysterious member of D.A.R.K., uncovering narrative layers surrounding D.A.R.K., UpWard, and the protagonist’s motives for returning.

“With the popularity of The 1st Floor, over a billion views all over the internet in just two months, we saw a dream come true! We were overwhelmed with hilarious and positive comments,” says Winston van Graafeiland, founder of Skunx Games. “Then we started making The 2nd Floor, and somehow I think we managed to make it even more insane than the first game. We can’t wait to see what people think!”

Gameplay Mechanics and Franchise Evolution

The expansion introduces new creatures alongside recurring elements like the player’s companion, Inky the squid plush gun. Players must survive the devourer while moving toward the 3rd Floor. Winston van Graafeiland, a professional visual artist, founded the Youtube channel Horror Skunx in 2020, building an audience of millions of subscribers worldwide through 3D animated short films and music videos before expanding into Skunx Escape Rooms and Skunx Games.
