Andrea Thuesen and Vilhelm Strange named their band Snuggle with a touch of irony. Their debut album, Goodbyehouse, released on Escho, emerged from a period of significant personal upheaval where comfort was scarce. “We had fun – you can hear humour a bit on the album – and we went through some tough times, existential crisis, and you can hear that too,” Thuesen explains in a video call from Copenhagen.

Goodbyehouse became a 2025 underground success due to it’s emotional honesty and the duo’s unique blend of Dido-esque balladry, shoegaze, and minimalist pop. Thuesen and Strange recently finished a tour, leaving them both unwell. “We get sick now after three weeks!” Strange laughs. “It was a lot easier when we were twentysomething.” They’ll need to adjust: 2026 brings an extensive Danish tour, shows with Paramore’s Hayley Williams, and performances at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound and Denmark’s Roskilde festival.

This isn’t either member’s first musical venture. Strange previously played in the electronic soul band Liss, signed to XL Recordings. The band disbanded after the tragic suicide of lead singer Søren Holm in 2021, releasing their final album posthumously in 2022. “I was kind of at my lowest – I didn’t know what my music should sound like, if I should even make music,” he says. “That had been my life.”
