Meanwhile, this electric car with the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) concept was exhibited at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Las Vegas, United States.
Arena EV reported that Afeela only appeared briefly on the CES 2026 stage. However, her appearance could be a strong signal of Sony and Honda’s seriousness in building high-tech electric cars.
The electric car, which is also called the Afeela 2026 SUV,is the second model to be introduced to the public after the Afeela 1 Sedan.
Furthermore, the 2026 Afeela SUV is planned to be launched in the united States in 2028 with the main focus on targeting North american market consumers. Looking at the design, this SUV has a minimalist and futuristic style that is similar to the Afeela 1 Sedan.
The body lines are designed to be smooth and emphasize a clean impression. The rear roof is made sloping Coupe-style to give a sporty impression.
Visually, the design character is still attached to the identity of Japanese vehicles, especially the DNA of modern Honda electrified cars which prioritize functional and rational aspects.
Afeela CEO, Yasuhide Mizuno stated that his party had deliberately not provided various technical details regarding the appearance of the 2026 Afeela SUV.
Even so, Mizuno said that the cabin space of this SUV is more spacious than the Afeela 1 sedan. This claim emphasizes the position of this SUV as a future family vehicle that still prioritizes comfort and carrying capacity.
Interestingly, Afeela brings a unique approach by turning vehicles into mobile entertainment centers. Even though interior details have not been fully shown, the cabin of this Sony and Honda concept electric car appears to have a large screen stretching along the dashboard.
The dashboard is equipped with additional screens for rear row passengers. One of the features that attracts the most attention is the presence of the PlayStation 5 game console as a built-in entertainment system.
Sony is said to be aggressive in combining the entertainment ecosystem with electric vehicles. This will certainly attract the attention of console game lovers, especially PlayStation fans.
Afeela Performance 2026
In terms of performance, the 2026 Afeela SUV is expected to have similar specifications to the sedan version. This car is projected to use two electric motors with All Wheel Drive (AWD) with a total power of 298 kW or around 400 HP.
As a power supply, the battery has a capacity of 91 kWh which is claimed to be able to cover a distance of around 480 kilometers on one full charge. Equipped with fast charging capabilities, Afeela adopts a Tesla-style NACS connector with a power of up to 150 kW.

This combination enables 360-degree monitoring around the vehicle and supports Level 3 automation capabilities. Although quite impressive, this approach also has implications for high production costs. Regarding price, Afeela has positioned itself in the premium segment from the start.
