South Carolina Beach Volleyball Heads to Big 12 Preview Tournament

COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 19 South Carolina beach volleyball travels to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the Big 12 Preview tournament on Friday, and Saturday. The Gamecocks will begin play against No. 11 Arizona State at 9 a.m. ET and No. 7 TCU at 1 p.m. ET. Saturday’s schedule is yet to be determined.

Last Time Out

South Carolina recently achieved three victories at the March to May Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama. They defeated UAB 5-0, North Alabama 4-1, and Austin Peay 5-0 before falling to UAB 3-2.

The duo of Jolie Cranford and Peyton Yamagata remained undefeated from the No. 2 and 3 positions. Brooke Balue and Rachel Martmann have been strong in the top spot, going 4-0 last weekend and improving their overall record as a pair to 12-4.

Scouting the Weekend Field

No. 11 Arizona State (12-6)

All-time series: The overall series is tied 3-3. The Gamecocks are 0-1 against the Sun Devils at neutral sites.

Last Meeting: Arizona State won 4-1 in Tempe on March 29, 2025.

Series Note: The two programs have consistently played close matches, trading 4-1 decisions over the past three meetings.

No. 7 TCU (12-4)

All-time series: TCU leads 6-3 and has won the last six meetings.

Last Meeting: The Horned Frogs won 4-1 in Fort Worth in 2022.

Series Note: The two teams met three times in 2021 (February 28, March 27, and April 24).

No. 5 Florida State (19-1)

All-time series: Florida State leads South Carolina 27-0.

Last Meeting: The Seminoles won 5-0 in Tallahassee on April 5, 2025.

Series Note: The two programs met three times in both 2023 and 2024, all either in Tallahassee or at a neutral site.

RV Boise State (7-9)

All-time series: South Carolina leads the overall series 2-0.

Last Meeting: The Gamecocks won 3-2 on March 13, 2026.
